High Level
----------
- test execution improvements
1 better configuration: devices, test packages, etc.
2 robustness & error handling
o dynamic device handling (Android via adb.exe)
* target/device handling (support spawning local executable)
* better test choosing: do something a bit smarter than X hard-coded cases..
* support multiple test packages
* handling multiple test executions (queue and/or execute in parallel)
- usability improvements
o treeview performance with large data on Chrome, Firefox, IE
* visualize active things (batch results being executed, connected devices, etc.)
* remember last used settings (some saved locally, some on server)
* advanced result log viewing (image zooming, diff highlights, etc.)
* GUI redesign (drop batch result "tabs" from results screen, etc.)
* misc. functionality: remove batch results, etc.
- test harnesses
* integration tests
* unit tests (rtdb, others?)
- portability
* Linux, OSX
* Firefox, Safari, IE
- database robustness
* transaction conflict resolution
* closer-to-native SQL usage
Saving GUI Settings
-------------------
Need to save some settings for improved usability:
- currently selected (last used) device config
* also its modified parameters (in case not saved yet)
* invent some concept for supporting shadowed rtdb objects (with modifications)
Implementation alternatives:
a) store locally (IndexedDB or somesuch)
+ saved across sessions
- confusion with multiple settings
b) store locally (in transient variables)
+ not confused with multiple settings
- not saved across sessions
c) store on server (use rtdb)
+ use existing infra for storage
- clutters databae with extra objects
- confuses settings from multiple users
d) open batch result page in new tab
+ might be cleanest approach anyways (at least as an option)
- doesn't work across sessions
