Compare period character as well during wildcard matching

Currently, during wildcard matching, specifying *.xyz.com will end up
matching any domain ending in xyz.com (e.g. including abcxyz.com, which
is completely different). Ensure that it only matches the following:
1. xyz.com exactly
2. Domains ending in .xyz.com i.e. check the period character as well
